vFAS membership is subject to high practice standards. For instance, members have to take regular refresher courses. After all, you should be able to rely on getting top-notch advice from a vFAS-lawyer or mediator.

There are three types of vFAS membership:

Aspiring member
An aspiring member still has to complete the specialised training course on family law and divorce mediation .

Member
a member is a lawyer who has become a member/an aspiring member before January 1st, 2008. A member has completed the specialised training course on family law. As from January 1st, 2008, members are obliged to complete the elemental part of divorce mediation as well.
